Two Night/Two Day Salmon Fishing Experience Events on South Tyne, Northumberland

The South Tyne is a magical English river which cuts its steep passage though the rolling grouse moors of the high Pennines to then march below Hadrian’s Wall on its way to meet its sister North Tyne at Hexham. This spate river can be very generous indeed with excellent runs of late summer and autumn salmon, as well as large sporting sea trout! The South Tyne is also the perfect size for beginners to enjoy, as the pools are all easily covered by fly and wading over knee height is rarely required. A fine South Tyne sea trout Our Salmon Fishing Experience days include what we all expect from quality salmon fishing days, namely, top quality accommodation (with plenty to do for non-fishing partners), fine food & wine (including lunch) and fabulous, fully guided salmon [...]

Upper Arndilly – River Spey Salmon Fishing

We offer here a rare opportunity to fish the famous Upper Arndilly stretch of the Spey in July, the beat's most prolific month! This is classic summer salmon fly fishing with floating line and small flies with spring salmon and summer grilse/salmon, AND sea trout in the pools! The fishing is let as a whole (all three rods) from 1 to 6 days of fishing (if available) so you will fish with friends. Each rod will fish 1 of the 3 sub-beats on rotation with a shared ghillie in attendance with a spacious and well-equipped fishing cabin to retreat to, or entertain in!The water is fished from the bank and by wading. Wading, for the most part, is fairly easy. The beat comprises six pools. Fiddich Mouth is highly productive, is fished relatively easily from the bank [...]

Smithston Fishings Club offer Salmon Fishing on the Doon

The Smithston Water begins about 500 metres below the village of Patna and extends for about 3 kilometers with a mixture of double and single bank fishing. There are 37 named pools, divided into 3 beats, with numerous streamy waters between. The Smithston Water offers fabulous variety, ranging from quieter waters flowing through pastures on the Top ‘A’ Beat, to tumbling pools on the wooded Middle ‘B’ beat to swift waters on the Bottom ‘C’ beat, as the river flows towards the rapids of the Boreland Glen. The fishing suits both newcomers to the sport and more experienced rods. By any standards, the Smithston Water is an exceptional piece of countryside – with wildlife and fauna to match – set in the lush Ayrshire countryside – a tremendous place for salmon and trout and those that seek [...]

Lambley Farm Salmon Fishing, South Tyne

The South Tyne runs through the beautiful land of Lambley Farm which has its own private salmon, sea trout and trout fishing beat. The fishing is double bank and about one and half miles long stretching from Lambley Viaduct to a couple of hundred yards below the road bridge. The South Tyne here at around 500ft is perhaps the last of the “lowland” beats as upstream the river climbs steeply over 1,300ft in just 20 miles to its source at Tynehead. Perhaps this is why the Lambley pools become well stocked with running salmon and sea trout which often rest in the big pools ready for the last dash up the ever steepening and shrinking river. The South Tyne is a “spate river” which means it rises and falls quickly depending on the rainfall on the high [...]

Glenbeg Fishings – 13 lovely wild trout lochs in the Scottish glens

Glenbeg fishing, near Oban, encompasses over 2,000 acres of beautiful Scottish hill and moor with 13 jewel-like lochs studded within. These pristine waters offer wild brown trout fly fishing of fine unspoilt quality. The brown trout are stunning, and many will never have seen an artificial fly in their life. They commonly range from a quarter pound to beauties over 3lb. Some of the lochs are easily accessible by car but others can only be explored by the adventurous, with isolated, undisturbed fishing often the reward for an hour walk or more. These are fly fishing lochs only, and when fished with tiny dry-flies or a team of traditional wets, roaming from one loch to another, the estate is a genuine joy to fish. All thirteen lochs are covered by the Glenbeg fishing permit sold here. [...]
