The River Dochart flows through the Auchlyne & Suie Estate in Perthshire, and is one of the main tributaries of the mighty River Tay. There is both salmon (15th Jan – 15th Oct) and trout (15th Mar – 6th Oct) fishing on the river. The Smithston Water begins about 500 metres below the village of Patna and extends for about 3 kilometers with a mixture of double and single bank fishing. There are 37 named pools, divided into 3 beats, with numerous streamy waters between. The Lanrick water is situated between Doune and Callander on the river Teith and extends for 3.5 miles of which 2 miles are single bank and 1.5miles are double bank fishing. There are 16 named pools amid a magnificent woodland and parkland setting. The river enjoys a traditional spring run from the opening day followed by an exciting sea trout run between March and July accompanied by a less predictable grilse run. An excellent autumn run continues from late August until the end of the season in October.
